Sugary Pancake

Why did you use this typeface?

“Kindness for Ukraine” is a sociopolitical graphic meant to evoke sympathy for Ukraine during its time of war with Russia. The colors used to represent the Ukraine flag, and the official flower (the sunflower) represents the sympathy this country needs from us right now. I chose Sugary Pancake for my type treatment because it has a playful, child-like aesthetic. The text (“I don’t know how to explain to you that you should care about other people.”) is seemingly simple, and a child could understand it, yet many people just do not get it.
