Setup Type is a Slovak type foundry and design studio founded in 2009 by Ondrej Jób. Måns Grebäck is a type designer and font creator specializing in script typography, but with a portfolio containing a vast selection of styles. Océane is a french graphic and type designer since 2016. In 2020, she published her first font, Honesty, a 16-style flared, lapidary or incised sans typeface family that took inspiration from the Trajan column carvings and Berthold Wolpe’s Albertus (1938). Since that time, she published several typefaces, such as Sincerity, Brahmana, Lakshmi, Sincerity Stencil and more recently Anori and Hecate.

Giuseppe Salerno and Paco González are the two founder, italian and spanish, their passion for writing and handcrafted lettering became their strenghts. Mikołaj Grabowski was born in Warsaw, Poland, where he worked and studied at the AFA. Yet before going to art school, he designed his first type family which proved successful, gained him local recognition and gave a good push into the creative world. He specialises in color fonts and display typography.In Poland, companies that don’t focus on their visual identity due to their established reputation and high level of professionalism that speaks for itself, choose from a range of default names for their business. Missy Meyer has decades of lettering and illustration under her belt; when looking to change careers in her 40s, graphic design seemed like the perfect way to go. She soon found her way into font design, and has been in love ever since. She specializes in quirky, casual, fun fonts that don’t take themselves too seriously, but are still clean and easy to work with. (What did she do before design? It’s been an amazing variety of jobs, including: bank teller, pizza chef, accountant, camp counselor, casino dealer, singing improv comedian, and game show host at Walt Disney World.)

The Vanderfont Type Collection contains fonts by type designer Joe VanDerBos. With allusions to mid-20th century advertising art and retro-kitsch, Joe’s fonts might be mistaken for revivals. While that’s a high compliment, it’s a misplaced one as well. All of the Collection’s faces are originals. Retrofit and Beachbuoy are modern products filtered through a life spent scanning old magazines and shooting backward glances at faded billboards. With the past slipping away so quickly, timelessness is a virtue Joe holds highest as a type designer. He says: “By making faces today that look like something from yesterday, I feel I’m making something that will outlast trends. I try to imagine what Retrofit would have looked like in a magazine ad from 1953. That’s my inspiration. Create faces that will intrigue a reader 50 years from now.”

Vetcursief Font Foundry is located in the Netherlands, in the city center of Arnhem with a view over the river Rhine. Clear and geometric shapes are the starting point of my sketches, but I am always looking for a natural flow of the curves. The fonts that I make are versatile due to an extensive set of characters and accents for all European languages. I discovered my love for typography during my studies at the ArtEZ School of the Arts in Arnhem, where I had lessons from various Dutch type designers. After that, during my work as a senior graphic designer I designed many logos with letters I designed myself, after which creating my own fonts is a logical step that I enjoy a lot. The idea that others can shape their ideas with my fonts is very inspiring.
