Design with Curiosity: Shaping the MyFonts Experience

A/B Testing AI Design Process User Experience (UX)

Every great design begins with curiosity. At MyFonts, that same spirit guides how we shape every part of your experience, from the way you explore a type family to how our AI tools help you discover fonts that bring creative ideas to life.

Much of this evolution happens quietly, through a process known as A/B testing. It helps us see what truly connects with people, not by guessing but by observing, listening, and refining. Each test is a small act of design thinking, a way to make MyFonts more intuitive, more inspiring, and more attuned to the rhythm of how designers work.

Exploring the Details

When we explore a new idea, such as a refreshed Family Page or a more intuitive AI-powered search, we create two versions and learn from how people interact with them. Some see Version A, others see Version B. We watch how they move, what draws attention, and where they pause to take in a detail. These small moments of engagement tell us how design speaks in practice.

Every new test begins with a short hypercare period. During this time, we pay closer attention to how the experience unfolds in its first moments. We look at heat maps to trace where curiosity gathers and session recordings to understand how people move through the page. These early signals help us see through the user’s eyes. They show us where someone hesitates or where the flow feels natural, and they help us ensure that everything is behaving as intended before we look at broader patterns.

After hypercare, the work becomes more reflective. Designers, engineers, and researchers sit together to interpret what we see and ask what it means. Does this change feel natural. Does it make type exploration smoother. Are we helping someone express their creative intent more easily. These questions guide every conversation.

Designing Together

Every morning, our teams gather to share what they have learned. It is not a meeting about numbers but a dialogue about meaning. Around the same table, designers, product thinkers, engineers and business partners bring their own perspectives. Each voice contributes to a fuller understanding of what works and why it matters.

Some experiments move us forward quickly, others invite us to slow down and rethink. We decide together whether to iterate, scale, or sometimes start fresh. These choices are guided by care rather than speed, because each adjustment shapes how someone experiences MyFonts for the first time.

Balancing Progress with Care

In design, progress must always live in harmony with purpose. That is why we use guardrails, quiet boundaries that protect the experience as it grows. They make sure that what we improve in one area does not unintentionally disrupt another. A faster page must still feel calm. A bolder layout must still feel familiar. Guardrails keep our work aligned with what truly matters: clarity, trust, and a sense of ease.

Seeing the Stories Behind the Data

Data helps us listen, but empathy helps us understand. Every number, click, or heat spot represents a person searching, comparing, or imagining a new project. We look for the story behind those patterns, how someone might be choosing a headline font for a brand, or exploring a display typeface that captures a mood. Each test becomes a way to serve those creative moments with more sensitivity and grace.

A Human Approach to Design

At MyFonts, experimentation is part of our craft. It is how we continue to learn what makes design feel right. Even as we use data and AI to refine the experience, the heart of our work remains deeply human. We aim to make the tools of typography feel thoughtful, intuitive, and alive, so that designers and customers can focus on what matters most, their ideas.

A/B testing is not a formula for efficiency but a practice of curiosity. It is a way to listen more closely to how creativity unfolds online and to ensure that every interaction feels as intentional as the typefaces we showcase. Each improvement, no matter how small, is another way to honor the people who use MyFonts to create something meaningful.

Because in the end, design is not just about how things work. It is about how they feel, and every insight, test, and conversation brings us a little closer to that feeling of harmony where technology and creativity meet.
