I am Burçin Canbay, the founder of Egg Fonts Foundry and a type designer in Istanbul.

I studied graphic design at the university and developed my skills in typeface design during this process. My passion for typography, which began with lettering, evolved into typeface design as I sketched alphabets and explored letterforms, and it became my favorite thing to do in life. I love to design to solve problems, bring ideas to life, impress people, and explore new ways when to do that. Combining this perspective and my skills in type design, I create aesthetic and functional fonts.

No matter how aesthetically pleasing a font may be, it fails to fulfill its purpose if it lacks readability. Therefore, the most critical issue is readability and legibility while designing experimental, characteristic, unique typefaces. This vision is my philosophy for type design.
