Charles Derriey
Charles Derriey, (* 17. August 1808 in Moissey, Jura (Département); † 11. February 1877 in Paris), was atypefounder, punchcutter and printer in Paris. After his first years learning the arts and crafts of typography at Besançon, he creates, in 1839, he ran own print shop with a rotative printer and other equipments. His work, a typographic masterpiece, can be found in "Gravure et fonderie de C. Derriey : spécimen-album (Paris : Rue Notre-Dame-des-Champs, 6&12, 1862). Famous for his beautiful ornaments. The foundry was sold to Turlot on October 1, 1880.
