About the family

Containment is for headlines that need to look like they picked up some of the environment around them.

Its tall, condensed display forms can be built from separate Solid, Shade and Sparkle layers, with the Full style combining the effects. The Sparkle layer is coarse enough to become gravel, dirt, snow, sprayed grit or confetti depending on the surrounding color and imagery. Because the texture is built into the lettering, names, dates and messages can change without rebuilding masks and distress effects for every new headline.

Rally and off-road motorsport give the system an especially natural job. Gravel rallies, rallycross, motocross, desert racing and off-road truck events revolve around loose surfaces being thrown into the air. Containment can turn the particles into kicked-up gravel or dirt across stage names, race-series graphics, broadcast cards, paddock signage, team apparel and event merchandise. Gravel cycling offers a related use for race identities, route graphics, bike launches and tire campaigns.

In winter-sports graphics, the same particles can become snow. Ski and snowboard competitions, terrain parks, snowmobile events and resort campaigns can use Containment for event names, equipment graphics and apparel, while its condensed proportions suit long, narrow surfaces such as skis and snowboard decks.

Textured coatings provide a more industrial application. Truck-bed liners, stone-chip protection, anti-slip finishes, powder coatings and rugged spray treatments are sold partly through the surface they create. Containment can make a product name look as though that material has been sprayed through the letters, connecting launch graphics, sample boards, dealer displays and trade-show graphics directly to the coating itself.

Tire and traction brands can use the same system across gravel, dirt and snow campaigns, while championship graphics can turn the particulate layer into confetti after a season spent using it as terrain.

Containment provides a repeatable layered display system for typography that needs to carry the texture of the surface, coating or event around it.
