Dennis Michaelis completed his master’s degree in Visual Communication at Berlin University of the Arts (UdK) in 2014. In the Visual Systems course, he worked on the potential of mistakes and developed ideas for working constructively with mistakes. He also obtained a bachelor’s degree in Communication Design in 2012 from Berlin University of Applied Sciences (HTW), where he focused on Editorial Design and Typography. He worked at the Stan Hema agency in Berlin during his practical semester and again after his primary degree. In 2014 Dennis co-founded Schauschau Design Studio and develops since 2016 together with André Leonhardt fonts at Interfont.
