About the family

Ebenezer is gothic typography at its most deliberate. Every letterform carries the fine-lined texture of centuries-old medical engravings—skeletons, organs, and anatomical curiosities reduced to an almost imperceptible grain that enriches the surface without cluttering it. The result is a typeface that feels unearthed rather than invented, like a relic from some long-forgotten archive.

Designed for maximum impact in all caps, Ebenezer retains its clarity even as its edges fray with age and wear. The characters sit with the weight and authority of carved stone, making them just as compelling on a weathered parchment background as they are on a glowing digital screen. Built-in automatic ligatures replace common letter pairs with custom combinations, giving display work a hand-set unpredictability that keeps the viewer’s eye moving.

This is a typeface for titles that can’t afford to be overlooked—book covers steeped in dark fantasy, role-playing game expansions, occult merchandise, metal album art, or film posters that need to command attention from across the room. Ebenezer works in the spaces where elegance meets menace, giving designers a tool that can carry both with conviction.
