About the family

EXPRESSIONISTA s a display typeface inspired by the unsettling visual language of 1920s German Expressionism. Its letterforms appear carved from sharp shadows, impossible perspectives, and distorted architecture, echoing the haunting atmosphere of the classic film The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari.

Each glyph was crafted to evoke crooked streets, hand-painted signs glowing in the darkness, and stories suspended between dreams and madness. While remaining readable at medium and large sizes, the typeface truly shines in headlines, book covers, posters, role-playing games, horror comics, theatrical productions, and projects inspired by silent cinema.

Is not a historical reproduction but a contemporary tribute to the visionary spirit of Expressionism. It offers designers, illustrators, and storytellers a powerful tool for creating mysterious, dramatic, and unforgettable visual identities.

Until I had to solve a problem that led me to create my first full font with many glyphs, letters and signs. And now here I am.
