About the family

The Hop Expanded typeface serves as the wide counterpart to Hop Compressed, showcasing a calligraphic style in the connections between stems and bowls. This versatile typeface offers a broad spectrum of weights and features a rounded companion across all styles. Hop Expanded consists of two distinct families: Hop Expanded Normal, which presents strong and straight letterforms, and Hop Expanded Rounded, designed for a smooth and soft aesthetic. Additionally, Hop Expanded is a variable font with two axes (Weight 'wght' / Custom 'cstm'), allowing users to select weights ranging from 100 (Thin) to 900 (Ultra) and adjust the corner radius from 0 (none) to 100 (fully rounded). Whether you prefer rounded edges or sharp lines, Hop Expanded provides the flexibility to meet your design needs.

About Pizzatypefaces

An independent type foundry that designs expressive, contemporary and custom typeface for ambitious creative projects. Active on the international scene, it develops a bold and evolving catalog, designed to meet current design uses. Combining formal research, technical know-how and contemporary ideas, we create singular, functional and resolutely modern characters. His typographic heritage serves as an anchor point for a current writing: from super-families and variable fonts to more experimental characters, each creation creates a dialogue between the memory of forms and the energy of its time. The foundry also puts its expertise at the service of major brands by designing personalized characters, designed to assert strong and distinctive identities. The path of our foundry is that of a constant dialogue between heritage and innovation. We tap into typographic history to extract its essence, then reinterpret it with contemporary tools, uses and sensibilities. Whether it is superfamilies, variable fonts or more singular characters, our ambition is to create durable, expressive and useful fonts, able to accompany strong brand identities as well as demanding cultural projects.
