Khoirul Faktur Rohmat

I am a type designer based in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, and a co-founder of Praktypes, an independent type foundry established in early 2026. Currently in the final year of my design studies, I began exploring type design as a way to better understand how visual forms shape communication. My work focuses on balancing structure and expression, combining technical precision with a sensitivity to form and composition. I see type not only as a functional tool, but also as a medium for storytelling, where each character contributes to the overall tone and clarity of a message. Through Praktypes, I have been developing typefaces intended for a range of applications, from branding to editorial use. My process is driven by careful construction, iterative refinement, and attention to how type performs across different contexts. I aim to create typefaces that are clear, versatile, and expressive—tools that help designers communicate with both precision and personality.
