Kontour Type publishes high quality original typefaces for professional use designed by the foundry's owner Sibylle Hagmann. Her special interest lays in typography and its microcosm of individual letterforms and glyph systems. Most type design projects are developed independently of commissions and sometimes find their way into client driven collaborations. In 1999 Sibylle Hagmann completed the typeface family Cholla originally commissioned by Art Center College of Design and released by the type foundry Emigre in the same year. Cholla was among the winning entries of bukva:raz!, the type design competition of the Association Typographique Internationale (ATypI) in 2001. The typeface family Odile was released in 2006 and awarded the Swiss Federal Design Award in the same year.
