About the family

Mortapia is a monoline calligraphy retro script font, hand lettered feel. Its even stroke weight, flowing loops, and graceful slant give it a clean, modern edge while keeping the charm of classic signage and vintage cursive. The letterforms are elegant yet friendly, so the font works for both refined designs and playful projects.

The font includes ornate alternate capitals with sweeping curls and decorative entry strokes, which make headlines and monograms stand out. Lowercase alternates end in long tail swashes, so words finish with a smooth underline style flourish that is ideal for logos, titles, and signatures. Mix basic and alternate characters to create anything from simple, readable lettering to expressive compositions.

Mortapia is especially suited to food and beverage packaging, café and ice cream branding, soda labels, menus, and boutique logos. It also works beautifully for seasonal and celebration designs such as Thanksgiving invitations, Christmas cards, Valentine's greetings, wedding stationery, and party announcements. Other good uses include social media graphics, posters, quotes, product labels, merchandise, apparel, and neon style signage.
