Norman Sims
Norman Sims is a type and graphic designer based in Atlanta, Georgia, working at the intersection of print heritage and digital craft. His background in print production and design instilled an early obsession with letterform, spacing, and the small typographic decisions that separate a good page from a memorable one. That sensibility now drives his type work. Norman is drawn to display design with personality — faces that carry the drama of a period or a place while remaining rigorously drawn and carefully spaced. He is especially inspired by the visual culture of the early twentieth century: theatre marquees, gilded signage, and the geometry of the Art Deco age. He builds his typefaces with a technical, engineering-minded approach, refining every glyph and kerning pair by hand, and treats broad language support as part of the craft rather than an afterthought. For Norman, type design is where visual instinct and precision meet.
