The Seibido Mincho typeface has been passed down uninterrupted for over 100 years, originating from woodblock type meticulously hand-carved by craftsmen. Initially created for newspaper headlines, it was designed during an era where text was the focal point of advertisements, which lacked photographs. To deliver an impactful presence that traditional typefaces couldn't achieve, the horizontal strokes of the characters were made bolder. This distinctive design tradition of bold horizontal strokes, a hallmark of Seibido, has been incorporated into the creation of "Seibi Shiomi." This typeface is perfect for use in headlines.
