About the family

Ugly Script is a handwritten script typeface designed for poetry, artistic texts, and expressive writing. It captures the beauty of imperfection, embracing a natural, spontaneous handwriting style that feels intimate, personal, and deeply human. The letterforms are fluid, irregular, and slightly unpolished, giving the font an authentic, emotional character. Ugly Script is not meant to be decorative or ornamental in a classic sense; instead, it conveys sincerity, fragility, and raw expression, making it ideal for poems, short stories, personal projects, book excerpts, lyrics, and artistic compositions. Its organic rhythm and natural connections create a smooth reading flow, while subtle variations keep the text alive and dynamic. Ugly Script works best at medium to large sizes, where its handwritten qualities can fully emerge. Ugly Script is perfect when you want typography that feels written, not designed — honest, imperfect, and expressive.
