About this font family
Newsanse has an open, rounded style and a quite generous x-height - both of which give extra legibility especially at smaller sizes.
The six weights give an appropriate choice for just about any conventional situation, from the slender Regular to the chunky Black. The weights are numbered in the menu (unconventionally but helpfully we think) in ascending order from 1 (lightest) to 6 (heaviest), making weight selection so much easier, and there’re three funky versions (different weights) with the letters misaligned in case you'd like a funky strapline simply by clicking. There’s an extensive variety of Open Type features, including Standard Ligatures; Discretionary Ligatures; an extended set of fractions for everything up to tenths; Scientific Inferiors; Ordinals; Small Caps/Punctuation with kerning; an alternative slashed zero and a round lowercase a as a stylistic alternate; plus Superscript and Subscript numbers; historical forms; and of course Class Kerning; plus extensive Western and Central European accented characters.
The Combination packages include a CompleteSet which has everything, and a StandardSet which has the 6 standard weights but not the Jumbled versions.
The zip package contains both the TTF and OTF versions of the font. Install only one version on the same machine, installing both versions may produce all sorts of erratic behavior.
