About the family

MFC Stencil Borders Five continues the stencil revival series with a collection of refined ornamental trims inspired by early 20th-century stencil pattern traditions. This volume emphasizes rhythmic repetition and balanced geometric structure, offering lighter decorative bands that retain the crisp clarity and graphic character inherent to stencil design. As with the other volumes in the series, MFC Stencil Borders Five includes both single-color and chromatic layerable styles. Designers may use the Regular style to create classic one-color stencil borders, or apply the A and B styles to produce dynamic two-color compositions. The motifs in this collection are especially well suited to horizontal banding, packaging trims, editorial dividers, invitations, stationery, and heritage-inspired branding. Constructed as a modular border system, the repeating trim segments and coordinated corner elements can be combined to build seamless rectangular frames or extended decorative bands of varying proportions. The result is a versatile stencil toolkit that blends vintage pattern design with contemporary layering flexibility. How It Works MFC Stencil Borders Five functions as a modular border construction system. Characters represent corner pieces and repeating trim elements that can be extended horizontally or vertically to form continuous frames or decorative bands. For proper alignment, set your font size and leading (line spacing) to the same value (for example, 12pt type with 12pt leading). To create two-color stencil borders, typeset your border using the Regular style to preview the complete design. Then switch the text to Style A in one color, duplicate it directly on top, and apply Style B in a second color to achieve precise chromatic layering.
