About this font family

Belmont JNL is named for an avenue in the Bronx, New York famous for once being the location of the Belmont Estate, which was the home of the Lorrillard tobacco family.

The Art-Deco-era hand lettering from some vintage sheet music is the basis for this type design.

During the 1950s a quartet of teenaged Italian-American singers took the street’s name for their vocal group, naming themselves Dion and the Belmonts.
