About the family

Bonobo is a transitional serif typeface with muscle and charm. Its blunt, slightly tapered serifs plant words firmly on the page, while subtle stroke modulation adds the warmth and humanity of classic book faces. The spacing is open, the proportions generous—text breathes easily, making long reads inviting rather than tiring.

The italics bring a different kind of energy. More than a simple slant, they have a hand-drawn quality with gentle entry strokes and graceful sweeps, perfect for adding emphasis or a conversational shift in pull quotes, subheads, and packaging. Influenced by 19th-century Bookman styles yet stripped of fussy ornament, Bonobo feels at home in contemporary editorial work, boutique branding, and literary covers. The sturdy capitals anchor headlines without shouting; the lowercase flows with a relaxed rhythm in body copy.

With multiple weights, multilingual support, and a design that balances authority with friendliness, Bonobo adapts as easily to the page of a hardcover novel as it does to signage, menus, or annual reports. It’s a serif with a handshake as firm as its serifs.
