À propos de la famille

Ballard Ave is inspired by old vintage signage found in Ballard, Washington, an old neighborhood of Seattle. Ballard Avenue is a protected historical district filled with turn of the century brick buildings that have been converted into quaint shops and independent businesses. This alphabet is based on the antique signage that still exists on the sides of many of these buildings.

Ballard Avenue

À propos Turtle Arts

Artist and font designer Kerrie Carbary has been addicted to the artistic alphabet since she was very small. On the Saturdays she had to work at a printer, Kerrie's mom used to set her up under her desk and let her cut up old type books to create letter collages. Since, Kerrie has be constantly drawn back to the art of letterform, from calligraphy to a compulsive collecting of all kinds of alphabets and fonts. Her obsession with alphabet rubber stamps let her to creating her own alphabets, which she has started to offer for sale as computer fonts, collage sheets, and rubber stamp sets. All of her fonts are based on artistic inspiration, from a letter by her great-grandmother to a doodle in her own sketchbook. She loves the letter, and is drawn to creating fonts that are unlike any other, yet are still very usable and readable.
