WHAT TO LOOK FOR IN FONTS THAT PAIR WELL WITH GILL SANS NOVA

  • Slab or Clarendon typefaces with subtle to overt humanistic overtones.
  • Transitional or Didone typeface designs like Monotype Baskerville or Arepo™.
  • Avoid sans serif fonts, but some square sans, like Cachet™ and DIN® Next, will pair reasonably well with Gill Sans Nova, but ensure that the weights of the two designs are very different from each other.

PMN Caecilia®

PMN Caecilia combines classical overtones with a contemporary vibe, creating a friendly and versatile slab serif family. Its large x-height, open counters, simple character shapes and sturdy serifs all contribute to the design’s high levels of legibility.

Trade Gothic Next®

The first Trade Gothic typefaces were released in the late 1940s by Jackson Burke. They were condensed sans popular for “trade” work, and were just named “Gothic” with numeric suffixes. Later, regular-proportioned versions emerged, leading to the unified name “Trade Gothic” for the family.
