About the family

Black Abbey Got is a dark, atmospheric display typeface inspired by the solemn beauty of medieval monasteries and the intricate forms of traditional blackletter calligraphy. Rooted in the visual language of ancient manuscripts, it brings together sharp structure and expressive irregularity, creating a timeless yet distinctive gothic voice. Designed for projects that demand character and depth, Black Abbey Gothic evokes the silence of stone abbeys, candlelit scriptoria, and the weight of forgotten texts. Two Styles, One Spirit Regular Clean, bold, and structured. The Regular style preserves the clarity and rhythm of classic blackletter forms, making it ideal for titles, logos, and compositions where legibility meets historical atmosphere. Worn A distressed, slightly blurred and consumed version of the original. The Worn style introduces subtle erosion, ink spread, and age marks — as if the letters have endured centuries within damp monastery walls. Perfect for adding texture, imperfection, and a sense of decay. Perfect For Book covers & editorial design Dark fantasy & medieval-themed projects Album artwork (metal, ambient, experimental) Branding with a gothic or historical tone Posters, packaging, and atmospheric visuals Features Uppercase & lowercase characters Numbers & punctuation Two stylistic variants: Regular & Worn Carefully crafted blackletter-inspired forms Strong visual impact for display use A Timeless Gothic Voice Black Abbey Got is not just a typeface — it’s a visual echo of a distant past, where ink, stone, and silence shaped the written word.

Until I had to solve a problem that led me to create my first full font with many glyphs, letters and signs. And now here I am.
