Kawasemi

Kawasemi is a Japanese name for kingfisher is a brush script based on handwritten casual calligraphy made with Crayola marker, resembling the energy and style of Asian brush calligraphy. Every stroke keeps its natural imperfection, a little uneven, a little raw.

Letters lean into each other, some strokes clash on purpose, spacing runs tight by design — all carefully kerned so the connections still read smooth and intentional rather than accidental. The result is a script that feels hand-drawn because it is hand-drawn, digitized without sanding down its personality.

Best use case is for logos, headlines, and short titles — anywhere a single confident gesture says more than a paragraph of type ever could. With extra characters for, swashes, alternates, and ligatures giving room to for creative experiment.

"Breathe, bend and dance. Curves remember hands. Ink becomes the world."

About Roland Hüse Design

My name is Roland Hüse, I am a freelance designer from Hungary. My current works includes typefaces and logos. I have taken specialized Art Classes in High School and later tried my hands at tattooing, but only found my true calling in graphic design a few years ago.
