Kotatype

kotatype is an independent type foundry dedicated to creating thoughtful, expressive, and purposeful typefaces for contemporary design. We believe typography is more than a tool for communication—it is a visual voice that shapes identity, atmosphere, and emotion. Our work explores the balance between character and functionality, combining refined details with practical versatility across branding, editorial, digital, packaging, and creative projects. Every typeface is carefully developed with attention to proportion, rhythm, readability, and distinctive personality. Driven by curiosity, craftsmanship, and a passion for meaningful visual communication, kotatype aims to create typefaces that feel relevant, memorable, and enduring.
