Leo Colalillo

I’m an independent type designer working between Rome and Milan, specializing in contemporary font development and visual experimentation. I have experience in both national and international projects, collaborating with agencies, music industry clients, food & beverage brands, and nonprofit organizations. My approach blends formal and technical research, combining new media with traditional techniques — including rare and nearly forgotten methods — to create original and functional typographic solutions. I design both custom and retail typefaces, with a strong focus on font engineering and the implementation of advanced OpenType features. Some of my type design work has been published by Typodarium / Verlag Hermann Schmidt and distributed through MyFonts.
