Spencer and Sons Co. is an independent digital type foundry specializing in display typefaces. Established in Bandung, Indonesia, in mid-2016 by graphic designer Gilang Purnama, the foundry draws inspiration from the Victorian era of the 1900s. This period, marked by the Industrial Revolution, brought significant changes in agriculture, manufacturing, transportation, and social structures. The art of chromolithography, with its distinctive hand-drawn lettering, serves as a major source of inspiration for the foundry's creations. Most products are tailored for the apparel, food and beverage, and brand identity industries.
