More about this family

About the family

Bio Sans is a super-neutral sans-serif type family designed by Ryoichi Tsunekawa, crafted specifically for text and optimized for clarity and versatility.

The family includes 6 weights, from ExtraLight to ExtraBold, each with matching italics, providing comprehensive support for a wide range of design needs.

Sharing the core philosophy of the widely popular Bebas Neue, Bio Sans embodies principles of being neutral, natural, minimal, harmless, super-flat, transparent, and above all, legible.
Its letterforms are built on a geometric skeleton, refined with sophisticated optical adjustments, delivering a unified, universal, and unobtrusive appearance—perfect for use across all media and purposes.

With a large x-height, Bio Sans ensures excellent readability, even at small sizes on digital screens.

The font supports a broad range of European languages, including Western, Central, and South Eastern European languages, as well as Afrikaans.
It also features a full suite of OpenType capabilities, including proportional figures, superior/inferior figures, denominators, numerators, fractions, ordinals, and case-sensitive forms, making it ideal for professional, multilingual typography.
