About the family

Telidon reconstructs the logic of dot-matrix impact printing rather than using dots as a decorative texture. Its monospaced characters recall the reports, inventories, laboratory results, and continuous-form documents produced by late-20th-century printers. The distinction lies in how the alphabet changes mode.

Expanded characters repeat horizontal impressions instead of stretching a smooth outline. Bold and Heavy styles build density by adding dots, while the italics shift pin positions in half-unit steps. These mechanical changes distinguish Telidon from dot-matrix lettering that simply stretches or slants a single bitmap alphabet.

Telidon is particularly effective when typography needs to appear issued by a machine. Film and television production designers can use it for computer printouts, financial records, laboratory reports, inventory sheets, and dispatch notices generated by period or fictional equipment. Computing and office-technology exhibitions can apply the same printer logic to reconstructed documents, diagrams, captions, and wall graphics.

The association also suits contemporary transportation, logistics, and technical-product design. Railway tickets, flight records, cargo manifests, tracking labels, model numbers, and equipment specifications all benefit from Telidon’s procedural, machine-readable character. At large sizes, its clean circular dots can also suggest LED arrays, flip-dot destination boards, and scoreboard displays without obscuring their impact-printer origin.

Telidon presents the printhead’s instructions with every dot in place. Its companion Telidon Ink records what happens when those instructions encounter a worn ribbon, imperfect paper feed, and repeated handling.
