Vera Evstafieva
Born in Moscow, Russia, in a family of artists and architects in 1980. Vera studied drawing and painting before entering the high school. She received the TDC Scholarship Award when she studied at Moscow State University of Printing Arts. Soon after she graduated from the University in 2003 with Rossica text typeface as the diploma project, made under the direction of Alexander Tarbeev, Vera went to the Netherlands to continue her type design studies by attending the famous Type & Media course at the Royal Academy of Arts in The Hague. Her graduation work was Basileus typeface that included Cyrillic, Latin and Greek character sets. Back to Moscow in 2004, she worked on type development projects for Typotheque and started teaching type design and calligraphy in Moscow design schools. In 2005, Vera was invited to a new type design department in Art. Lebedev Studio. There she worked on logotypes and lettering projects as well as on type design. Her original typefaces formed the basis of new Art. Lebedev Studio type library. Since November 2007, Vera works as an independent type designer, calligrapher and part-time teacher. Since 2010 she has run Infonta type foundry. Main typefaces: Rossica, Basileus, ALS Direct, ALS Dulsinea, Iona, Lilienthal Grotesk, Aspera, Apriori, Amalta.
